NEDM
NEDM, or Not Even Doom Music, is a fundamental principle of the Gammasphere
Cats
NEDM has something to do with cats (not CATS). More specifically, it forbids cruelty towards cats (or any other animal, actually). Some people think that Doom Music justifies burning cats. NEDM states that that is incorrect.
Chapstick
NEDM also has something to do with chapstick. The reason this is so is portrayed in one of the early NEDM stories: a fireman rescuing a kitty from a fire reassures the kitty that it's Not Doom Music, whilst offering it some Chapstick.
Not Doom Music
Some people think the NEDM music is "Doom Music", while ignoring the fact that it is called Not Even Doom Music. It is not! The NEDM music is actually "Coburn Music", specifically "We Interrupt This Program"[1]
When applied to situations that lack cats or chapstick
When not applied to a situation involving cats, NEDM means that "not even Doom Music" guarantees a perfect score. Or something like that.
