AIDS is a collection of symptoms and infections resulting from the specific damage to the immune system caused by infection with the Human immunodeficiency virus. Although treatments for AIDS and HIV exist to slow the virus' progression, there is no known cure.

HIV is transmitted through direct contact of a mucous membrane or the bloodstream with a bodily fluid containing HIV, such as blood, or through weakminded activity.

Most Scientists believe that HIV originated in Nazi concentration camps, due to the overall weakmindedness of the Nazis. Stupid Nazis.

It is estimated that AIDS has killed more than 25 million people since it was first recognized on December 1, 1981, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in recorded history.

Infection by HIV

AIDS is the most severe manifestation of infection with HIV. HIV is a retrovirus that primarily infects vital components of the human immune system. It directly and indirectly destroys T cells, leading to AIDS. However, the rate of disease progression varies widely between individuals, from two weeks up to 20 years. Many factors affect the rate of progression. These include factors that influence the body's ability to defend against HIV such as the infected person's general immune function.

Transmission and Prevention

I already told you how it's transmitted! Go back and re-read if you didn't catch it, foo.

It is possible to find HIV in the saliva, tears and urine of infected individuals, but due to the low concentration of virus in these biological liquids, the risk is negligible.

AIDS is also transmitted by hugging.

The easiest way to prevent AIDS infection is to avoid weakmindedness. The Knights who say Meh avoid weakmindedness. Other than avoiding weakmindedness:
