The * Organization, The Asterisk Organization, The Wildcard Organization, or The Whatever Organization (T*O or TAO or TWO or Tao or Two; pronounced as a word or abbreviation (the asterisk can be pronounced as anything)) was a group formed by ex-Knights who say Meh Abwayax and Ragnarok in November 2007. The members of Tao are reffered to as infidels.

Tao Declaration of WINdependence

WHEREAS, the Knights who say Meh are an organization founded on hate and arrogance. WHEREAS, the Knights who say Meh are an organization that promotes negativity, WHEREAS, the Knights who say Meh exist solely to "oppose the majority" and badmouth those that do not follow their example, WHEREAS, the Knights who say Meh are an exclusive, elitist, holier-than-thou clique.

The members of The * Organization do formally disassociate themselves with The Knights who say Meh.

Tao Philosophy

Tao does not have any "rules", as decided in IRC:

<Abwayax> And we don't have "rules", because we already have enough rules ourselves and shouldn't restrict ourselves too tightly
<Abwayax> I'm more thinking "philosophies"
<Ragnarok> Yeah.\
<Kyoukipichi> Philosophies sound good
<Abwayax> (or beliefs, but philosophies sounds cooler)

Instead, Tao has philosophies, which are just generally held beliefs. The philosophies of Tao are:

  • Respect: If at all possible, respect our fellows (that is, the entire human race, not just other infidels). If and only if someone has definite ill will towards us or others, then they show that they don't want respect. In short, treat others as they want to be treated.
  • Tolerance: The human race, as varied as it is, has many opinions. The asterisk symbolizes multiplicity; we are accepting and tolerant, except if said opinions facilitate ill will towards other fellow humans.
  • Equality: As human beings, we are equals. Our opinions are not better than anyone elses; in fact, save for its philosophy, Tao does not hold a unified opinion. We should refrain from calling judgment on others beliefs; we are not "better" than anyone else, and membership in Tao does not signify that you are part of a "higher order" (it is easy to join Tao)
  • Positivity: In general, almost anything is more enjoyable if viewed with a positive attitude. We should strive to be positive above all; negativity ruins it. Make the most out of a situation and enjoy it to the fullest. Carpe diem! Make lemonade out of lemons, and all that shiznit.
