Glitch Wars is a Pokémon-themed fan fiction series started in late 2003 or early 2004 by Abwayax (then known as Professor Glitch). As the title implies, the plot is heavily centered around game series glitches, and is based more on the game continuity than the canon established by the anime or any of the assorted manga series.

Plot elements

Organizations

The central focus of Glitch Wars is a continuous struggle between three organizations (the "wars" of the title):

Characters

PGP

  • Abwayax is the narrator of the "Glitch Zone" arc. Although he does not appear directly in the story, he is referred to as "Professor Glitch" numerous times. He holds the position of Scientist. In this regard he can be compared to Lemony Snicket. Later in the story, he is one of two title characters of the "Adventures of Abwayax and Phoenix" arc and is an Agent. He is 34 at the beginning of his title arc. His signature Pokémon are Charizard and 3TrainerPoké.
  • The Phoenix is Abwayax's partner. He appears in "The Antebellum Chronicles", where he is one of the two main characters. His signature Pokémon are Ho-oh, X - x, and #205 variants.
  • Agent ? is an Agent Superior. Above him was the Council in the "Glitch Zone" arc, however with the destruction of the council and the death of STPkBP, his colleague (also an Agent Superior), he has assumed control of the organization in "Adventures of Abwayax and Phoenix". He is known to favor Nob. His signature Pokémon are Ditto, Porygon2, Kecleon, and Ghost MissingNo.
  • Nob is an Agent. He is most often picked by Agent ? to accompany him on missions. His signature Pokémon are Voltorb and Electrode.

Team Normal

  • Fran is the founder of Team Normal and was the leader of its council in "The Glitch Zone" and the beginning of "Adventures of Abwayax and Phoenix". However, after her failed attempt to recover the exterminator device from the GPS, the council unanimously decided to replace her with Jason. She is still a council member; however as a result she and Jason have a rivalry. Her signature Pokémon are Nidoqueen and Mew.
  • Jason is the current leader of Team Normal. After Fran's failure to recover the exterminator device, Jason replaced her as head of the council (and, by extension, head of the organization). Jason's status as a vice president of Plain Industry Enterprises, a very rich and powerful company, allows him to fund Team Normal's operations.
  • Berke (also known as Berke the Birdkeeper) is a high-ranking officer of Team Normal. He is a birdkeeper and employs a large number of Flying Pokémon. He is said to own almost every non-Legendary Flying Pokémon out of the first 386, although some say he has legendaries too.

GPS

  • Jacred is the leader of Glitch Protection Syndicate. His Glitch powers are matched only by few. He claims to be the last in a long line of Emperors of the Ancient Glitch Empire. His signature Pokémon include all Duplicant MissingNos.
  • Executive is a high-ranked administrator of GPS. He is Jacred's second-in-command. His signature Pokémon is Q.
  • PokéPC is a high-ranking member of GPS. He is a Glitch trainer who is somehow able to carry more than six Pokémon. He was the former trainer of U D.

Other

  • U D is the founder and CEO of U D Incorporated, the most successful company in Glitch City. A Charizard 'M, he learned to speak English through meticulous studying and practicing. He gives PGP moral and financial support. However, during the story's run he sometimes faces his own corporate hardships.
